In order to lead students to enter a wider world of extracurricular reading, gain wisdom and strength, perfect integrity step by step in addition to making students become true readers who fancy reading, Anqing Foreign Language School set up a masterwork introduction course in the 7th and 8th grades. Also, Anqing Foreign Language School vigorously advocated teachers and students’ reading classics together to tour the literary canon hand in hand.
On the one hand, students and teachers read masterpiece together in class, which constructed a rich reading atmosphere.
On the other hand, teachers exchanged, discussed perceptions and learnt from each other after class, which promoted their mutual development.
What’s more, students enjoyed masterwork after school, which made the campus more scholarly.
In brief, since the implementation of the masterpiece introduction course, we could see students read classics everywhere on campus, which not only added a dense scholarly atmosphere into the energetic and passionate campus, but also played a vital role in students’ cultural literacy.
